Motorola e40 comes with 90Hz Display & 5000MAH under 10K | Unisoc T700 & More

Today we see the Motorola e40, the e series by Motorola is the budget series under the 10k price range. and the latest moto e40 is from the same series. It's a very interesting device and the sale is on Flipkart. its price is 9500rs and through Flipkart's sale, its effective price will come to 8500rs.

Moto e40 Build Quality

To talk about the phone, it's tall. and its weight would be around 190g as it has a 5000MAH battery. and according to that, I'd say it's very nice to hold.

It's not that broad and even if your hands are small, you shouldn't have a problem. The in-hand feel is good and it has a plastic back but it has curved ridges that give it a nice feel.

you get a fingerprint sensor at the back with their Motorola M logo. and it has a triple camera setup so the phone looks good from the back. to talk about its weight, it would be around 190g. buts it's a 193 to 194g, so it isn't much heavy and it's not on the lighter side.

Motorola e40 Ports & Buttons

Below, there's a microphone, a USB Type C in the middle and which is good, and a speaker Grill. on the right, below there's a power on/off button with a texture for you to know. above it, there's a volume rocker and there's another button for google assistant.

Generally, you don't expect a dedicated button for an assistant but it's available here. on the top, there's a headphone jack and on the left side, there's a sim card tray above. and the sim card tray I hope is a dedicated triple card slot. It is a triple card slot and you can expand your storage up to 1TB if you want.

Motorola e40 Display

It comes with protection which is equivalent to Gorilla Glass 3. It's Not Gorilla glass it's equivalent to it. it comes with 6.5 inches display with a center punch hole that's nice to see.

Generally, in the budget series, you see waterdrop V/U notches, but this has a center punch hole, which is good. it's an IPS LCD display that is fairly bright with 400Nits of brightness. and it has a 90Hz fast refresh rate.

Again, you don't get a 90Hz display in phones under Rs 10K. which is present here.

Motorola e40 Specification

It comes on UNISOC T700 SoC which is above UNISOC T610 SoC. If I talk about equivalent processors, then it's slightly faster than Helio G70 and nearly equivalent to Helio G80. its GPU is quite good. it has Mali G52 which is clocked at 850MHZ.

Battery - it has a 5000MAH battery with 10w USB Type C Charging. which is good as you get a Micro USB at this price. and charging time would be more than 2.5 hours to charge the full battery.

Storage - You get an eMCP storage, which compared to eMMC is slightly higher and is lower compared to UFS. It's somewhere in between, so it has eMCP Storage and LPDDR4X RAM.

Variant - it has only 1 variant, 4GB+64GB. with very interesting colors which many people might like. Pink Clay and Carbon Gray.

OS UI - It comes with MyUX that's very close to stock Andriod.

Motorola e40 Performance

Its performance shows inAnTuTu scores above 2.15L. so it's nearly the same as G80's Scores. and it's very similar so in terms of performance, it's quite decent. to talk about gaming performance, you can play BGMI on HD-High settings. so from a performance perspective, it's quite a good phone. I must say the UNISOC T700 performs well.

Motorola e40 Sensors

You get all sensors, including a rear-mounted physical fingerprint sensor. that's positioned above as it's a tall phone. and you'll have to stretch if you have small hands.

But if you have tall/average hands, then it'll fit perfectly. and it has face unlock as well and both work well without any problems.

Motorola e40 Camera

It has a 48MP triple camera setup and the primary sensor is 48MP with f/1.79 and then there's a 2MP depth sensor with f/2.4 and 2MP Macro sensor with f/2.4. so macro is good and ultrawide would've been better but in this price range, you generally don't get it.

On the front, there's an 8MP Selfie sensor in the center punch hole. But overall, in the price range, the photos are good in normal light conditions.

Motorola e40 Multimedia

It's a big 6.5 inches IPS LCD screen with a 90Hz display. The video viewing experience is good. if you see outdoors, it'll be fine as it has 400 Nits of brightness. so it's a decent video viewing experience.

The bottom-firing mono speaker isn't very loud, they're average and their quality is ok. overall. it's a decent multimedia experience.

But in multimedia to tell you, you get widevine L1 Support. it's an HD+ Screen but it has widevine L1 Certification which I really like. at times, even FHD+ has L3 Certification.

Motorola e40 Features

It's IP52 certified, so I'd say it's water-resistant and not waterproof. I'd say it's a water-repellent design so that's good.

Connectivity - There's no notification light but there's FM Radio. there's also a camera2api support and as mentioned earlier, it has a dedicated button for a virtual assistant.

Conclusion

So that is what Motorola e40 is all about. Yes, it's a budget series phone at Rs 9500. and the sale effective price gets to Rs 8500. at that price, performance-wise, it really does a very good job. its performance is equivalent to Helio G80 with an AnTuTu score of around 2.15L which is very respectable for this price.

it also has a triple camera setup with a 48MP primary sensor which is good, there's an additional 2MP macro camera as well. and it has a center punch hole which you don't generally see and there's IP52 certification.

Those are the things that I really like, and the display includes a 6.5" with 90Hz Display that's nice. that's not something that you get at this price range. so overall performance and display stand out for this phone at this price. it also comes with moto actions.
