There is a phone which we can confidently say is a value-for-money phone. In 2022, there aren't many phones like this. But this one is different. Infinix Hot 20 5G. If we talk in Infinix's language then this is a "Pure 5G" phone. Not just pure, really pure 5G phone.
Infinix Hot 20 5G Box Contents
There is an 18W charger, which I think is quite good. USB type-A to type-C cable. Documentation, yes there is documentation. And a dollar bill of that X club of Infinix. A SIM card tool. And the case is also there, yes. Nice case, very nice case. Ok, not nice but I'll say it's okay. Just like how a TPU case is.
Infinix Hot 20 5G Design & Feel
It seems like a tall phone. And the design is a little different, too. It's good that it's not glossy although it is a plastic back. Really nice, very nice. I liked the design. the word '5G' is written here.
It seems quite bizarre, if it'd have been on the side or near the camera, that would be good. It just stands out, 5G. One more thing, the display is a bit raised, if you see from the side, it is raised.
Yes, it is curved & not sharp with flat sides but why? It is a little bit upwards. Two big cameras are on the back.
Infinix Hot 20 5G Ports & Buttons
Talking about the ports, there is a USB type-C, 3.5mm jack, not a noise-canceling microphone. On the left side, you get a SIM card tray. The SIM card tool is right here.
There is a dedicated SD card slot. You can expand your storage up to 1TB & 2 nano SIM cards. And there is a gasket, so that's good.
Infinix Hot 20 5G In Hand Feel
The in-hand feel is this phone is good. It's slightly on the heavier side, I'm not sure why. Let's see. Let's say about 200 grams. Yes, it is a big phone. 204.4g. So, I was away by only 4g.
But yes it is slightly on the heavier side. But the in-hand feel is good. If you have average hands, then you can hold them properly. You shouldn't have any problems.
Infinix Hot 20 5G Display
Talking about the display, it is big. It is a 6.6" FHD+ display. It is a TFT display but the good thing is it has a 120Hz fast refresh rate. Again, it is below ₹12k.
It is a 5G phone, it comes on Dimensity 810. And it has 120Hz. One thing to say, there is a waterdrop notch & the chin is average-sized, too.
So, it feels slightly dated but the brightness is quite good. And despite it being a TFT display, the colors are quite decent.
Infinix Hot 20 5G Specification
If I talk about the specifications, then it comes to the Dimensity 810 processor. It is a 5G processor & a capable one. And why a really pure 5G? Because it supports 12 5G bands. In fact, we talked with Infinix, and they said... when you'll remove the phone from the box, you can use the 5G if you're in a 5G area.
These phones are tested with Telcos so they are 5G-ready out-of-the-box. No need for updates. There is only one variant: 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. But yes with the help of the SD card you can expand up to 1TB. But that's the only variant.
The battery is 5000mAh with 18W charging. LPDDR4X is the RAM type & eMMC 5.1 is the storage type.
Infinix Hot 20 5G Performance
Generally, phones under ₹12k have a Dimensity 700 processor which is 7nm. This one has Dimensity 810 which is on 6nm which is more power efficient.
If you see the AnTuTu score & performance, that is good, too. Because its clock speed is at 2.4GHz. I think Dimensity 700 has 2.2GHz.
The AnTuTu score is at 3,10,000. which is I'll say, at this price point, one of the best. And for gaming, guys, you can easily play at medium to high settings. Due to the 120Hz, the gaming is quite fluid. You'll enjoy the gaming.
But one thing I want to say, the speaker is a bit teeny. But the average is quite loud, you'll be able to hear the sound but the audio quality is average. By the guys, I told you that it has 4GB RAM that you can't increase. But yes, there is a virtual RAM of 3GB so if you want, it can become 7GB.
Infinix Hot 20 5G OS UI
Talking about the OS, you get Android 12 out-of-the-box which is good. And it has XOS. Talking about the XOS, it generally has bloatware.
Yes, I'll say that this has a little less but it does have. Infinix hasn't told anything about updates.
Infinix Hot 20 5G Features
If I talk about the features then there are 2-3 good features. There is Dar-Link 2.0. It helps in gaming, you get a boost in performance, etc. And there is a peak-proof display.
If someone is peaking from the side then you can turn on the peak-proof display. Then the display won't be visible to the person on the side but only to the one on the front.
But generally, you can't multitask on budget phones but you can do this. You have that multi-window support. That is good. there is no IP certification but we saw the SD, it has a gasket.
So, it will resist a little dust, and water but no IP certification. There is the support of Widevine L1 so you can easily stream HD. There is no notification light but there is an FM radio. The SAR value is within limits.
Infinix Hot 20 5G Connectivity
Talking about the connectivity, like I said before, it has 5G and all 12 bands are supported. So, you won't have a problem, it is a 5G proof phone.
There is Dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, Dual 4G VoLTE, and Wi-Fi Calling. So, all that is there. On the matter of connectivity.
Infinix Hot 20 5G Sensors
Talking about the sensors, all the sensors are present. There is a software-based gyroscope, a side-mounted fingerprint, & face unlock. The side-mounted fingerprint is fast, and it works well.
Infinix Hot 20 5G Camera
Let's talk about cameras. There are two cameras at the rear. The primary sensor is 50MP and the secondary sensor is an AI sensor. And, you on the front in a waterdrop notch you get an 8MP selfie camera.
But if you take pictures in normal conditions, it looks pretty nice. It means the colors are accurate. It boosts the colors a little bit, But, overall, I like the photos which are in normal conditions. They turn out great.
It has an interesting feature: Eye tracking. It tracks your eyes to be in the focus. Super Night mode & Portrait mode are there. So, on the matter of features, it's decent.
Overall, the camera. It's just like how you would expect a camera to be for a ₹12k phone but it's a little better, too.
Conclusion
So, finally, guys, what did I think about the Infinix Hot 20 5G? Like I've said before this is a value-for-money phone. It's priced under ₹12,000 & the processor is Dimensity 810. All the 12 5G bands are supported & there's a 120Hz fast refresh rate. The screen is FHD+ but it has TFT but it's FHD+.
The performance is good & the AnTuTu score is good, too. So, overall, it ticks marks all the main things. Based on that I'll say it's value for money. There's one more thing good about Infinix. They have 1200 service centers all over India.
If something happens to your phone, you shouldn't have any problems. Overall, a very decent device. Especially in 2022.
